Description: Folio 245. To: D G Adey, Auditor, Markyate, Dunstable [Bedfordshire]. From: The General Board of Health. Subject Matter: Draft letter acknowledging receipt of a letter of the 18 March 1855, to which the attention of the President will be called. It is advised that under the Public Health Act 1848 that the auditor does not have any power to interfere with the accounts of the Local Board, unless called upon to do so. It is for the ratepayers to take such steps they may think necessary if the Local Board do not comply with the requirements of the Statute.
