A letter submitting questions regarding the Idle Local Board's purchase of a property at auction for the purpose of street improvements. Jowett relates that the Idle Board have purchased a property, half of which will be demolished and used to affect street improvements, the other half will be sold off again. Jowett sees that in the Public Health Act 1848 Local Boards are to transfer any money from the sale of property to their District Fund, but the Idle Board do not have one, he asks if the District Fund is synonymous with the General District Account, and if also the expense of purchasing the property should be defrayed out the General District Rate.
