Description: Folios 238-239. To: Home Secretary. From: Robert Sutcliffe, Idle, [Yorkshire]. A letter informing the Office that Sutcliffe and 'other freeholders' in Idle are opposed to the Idle Local Board's scheme to obtain sanction to borrow funds from the Home Secretary to provide for the construction of water works in Idle. However, Sutcliffe says that the Idle Board are acting in a stealthy manner and so he can not get details of their plans. He requests that the Home Secretary will provide him with details of their proposals.
