Description: Folios 754-756. To: The Local Government Act Office. From: William Pickrell, Burnham, [Burnham on Sea, Somerset]. Letter acknowledging receipt of a letter of 1 December and regretting that the General Board are unable to help the local ratepayers. Expresses suspicion that the report of the local board is incorrect as to expenditure and forwards a copy of a letter from Benjamin Cox of Weston Super Mare to Robert Salisbury, dated 1 July 1864, offering to protect him in case of dispute as to the accounts, 'as one officer must protect another', the original of the letter is in the hands of the police.
