Petition to the king from the 251 seamen and marines from the ships listed, confined as prisoners on board the prison ship Eagle at Gillingham Reach [Kent] expressing contrition for the misdeeds of the ships' crews at the Great Nore [mutiny], claiming that they were deluded and drawn in by threats, and asking for mercy and clemency. The ships are named as: Brilliant, Director, Agamemnon, Pylades, Monmouth, Inflexible, Standard, Swan, Champion, Isis, Tysophine [Tisiphone], Beaulaue [Beaulieu], Proserpine, Overysal [Overyssel], Swinger gunboat, Inspector, Bellequex [Belliqueux], Ardent, Ranger, Leopard, Repulse, Mayflower gunboat and Sandwich.
