Description: Extract from the Portsmouth Officers' report on the Owen Glendower and Harriet, offered for sale. The Owen Glendower is oak built and in good condition with good materials and workmanship. She was built at Lymington and launched in April 1828 and is likely to last 7-8 years without a regular repair. Opine she is fit for a tender for a guardship, but too slightly built to carry guns as a cruiser, with an estimate. The Harriet is clinker built with an inch thick bottom and slight scantlings. Do not consider her fit for a tender for a guardship. Enclosure.
