AVAS is an archaeological society that holds monthly lectures and meetings in Ringwood from September to May (Lectures and meetings are held 1st Weds of the month at address below). The society has been in existence for over 30 years and is well known among many professionals and amateurs. Over the years AVAS has undertaken many archaeological investigations and projects within the New Forest and surrounding areas. There is a wide range of skills and experience within the society including mapping, geophysics and carrying out investigative excavations. The atmosphere is always friendly and relaxed with several social events throughout the year.
