Description: A post-medieval unidentified token, reading apparently THIS FARTHING IS OWED to one face. The central design on both faces is indiscernable. David Algar comments that if the legend is correct it may be from a now forgotten table-game based on the rhyme, Oranges and Lemons. The style, fabric and initial mark perhaps indicate a Nuremberg origin. The token is very worn and corroded with a ragged edge. The surface is mutilated. Possibly 17th or 18th century in date.
