Description: States the President - The Right Hon. Lord Montagu of Beauliue, Vice-Presidents - Right Hon. The Lord Manners, Right Hon. The Lord Lucas, Lord Arthur Cecil, W.F. Perkins Esq.. Lists members of the Council including Chairman - Lord Arthur Cecil, Vice-Chairman - Mr. G.G. Lander, Hon. Treasurer - H. Newnham Esq. Hon Auditor - Mr. G.G. Mapp, Hon. Secretary - Thomas Stovold, Harrow Farm, Bransgore, Christchurch. Annual report for 1908 stated how change of Secretaries caused some dislocation, back subscriptions had to be gathered and back accounts paid, but the Association was stronger than before thanks to Committee and Secretary. Members were urged to obtain as many subscriptions as possible. Burley Pony Show was praised but the Association's role to prepare 'the way by turning out superior .. Stallions' over the previous 15 years before the Show of Mares had 'graded up' the Forest Stock. Numbers of the Exhibition of Stallions were 'scarcely up to the average' but their quality had improved. The Show was thanked for providing prizes to Commoners so that they 'may keep the best of the colt foals each year'. 80 Stallions of two years old and upwards were needed to keep 'the proper stock up'. Pony owners were warned not to be tempted 'to sell good filly foals' nor 'endeavour to breed stock so fine that they cannot subsist on the Forest without suffering to the verge of starvation'. Winners of cups at the Show were named. Income was derived from end of year balance 31 Dec 1907, subscriptions and takings at April Stallion Show. The balance at the year end was shown as £32 14s 0d. 112 subscribers were listed (with addresses), with amount of subscriptions ranging from £20 (Lord Arthur Cecil) to 5s.
